Other than a small folding counter-top mirror if you wear contacts....I can't think of anything else I wished I brought. This probably wouldn't be necessary if you're staying in the ocean-side bungalow.

But here's some of the stuff I'm really GLAD I brought....water shoes...flip flops...(barely)enough bug spray, (barely)enough itch cream, enough sun screen, an extra set of camera batteries (for whatever reason they get drained very quickly there) and a charger, a plastic bag to throw the still damp water shoes in to pack for our trip back home, the empty bottles of water I bought at LAX for the flight( I would re-fill them from the larger (1.5 liter) bottle they gave us at Raimiti)...that way we always had a smaller size water to tote around with us......and lastly...some munchies, such as candies and nuts.

I am so jealous. Have a great trip and we want a trip report when you return. Hopefully you'll get to meet Maluha just before she heads off to Moorea to have her baby. If so, be sure to take a nice "very pregnant" picture of her for us.

Patti, sounds like he's going to be there after Maluha leaves. She takes off for Moorea on the 15th. He sounds like he'll be there the 19th.

We plan on seeing her and the baby in November on Moorea. I will definitely take some shots to share.

Thanks Joe. I can't wait to see pictures of the baby. I would just love to see a picture of Maluha all pregnant though. :-)

I just got back from our trip on June 30. Wonderful time at Raimiti. I wish I had brought beach towels and a powerful book reading light - kerosene lamps don't work for my eyesight. Raimiti tells you when you book that they do not supply beach towels. Do not forget to bring water shoes, sturdy sandals or crocs style footwear. Some guests arrived when we were there unprepared with leather shoes or metallic dress sandals. No sandy beaches, this is a coral atoll and you must protect your feet, even as you walk the shoreline.

I used regular Crocs for water shoes...the absolutely funniest thing was when I went in the water in front of the bungalows..they are so buoyant that they kept pulling my feet up and it was hard to tread water! They were great for walking on the crushed coral and reef, covered the toes and were comfortable. I think I liked them better than my Teva type sandals.
