Yes, that's one on my list. A lagoon within a lagoon....pretty neat! I'll be able to report back in details!

Thanks!

We were lucky to be the only ones at Raimiti. However, I don't think it will make much difference which bungalow you get. I believe you will feel like you have all the privacy you need as the bungalows are spaced apart from each other just enough. If you can get the farthest one away, why not? I wish we were going with you. Forget it, you're on your honeymoon.

Rodjune, I know you were the "pionners" for Raimiti! It's funny because I had found Raimiti on the net just a few weeks after it opened and almost booked it on my first trip in 2006. So I vowed to make it there on my next trip...here I come!!

However, we're not on a honeymoon so you're welcome to join us!!! :0)) The more the merrier!

Suki, are you going soon?

Andie - I know the subject on this thread isn't about Rangiroa, but you were asking if Patti had been there. We have - twice. If the weather cooperates, the drift snorkel through Tiputa Pass on Rangiroa is reported as a "don't miss" activity. It's an excursion that gets canceled frequently because of the wind or weather, as it did when we were there, but if you can catch it during a calm period it's worth it. We ended up going out in the glass bottom boat to the same general area inside the pass and got to get off the boat and snorkel around (those who wanted to). Saw napoleons, black tip sharks, other fish and coral formations in pretty rough water, but still very cool. I would still try to do the drift snorkel based on recommendations here, if we go back a third time...On our second trip to Rangi we were on our way to the Sauvage and we weren't there at the drift snorkel time on either end of our time there.

Thanks Marshamouse. Sounds like I'd better taken some sea sickness meds with me!! I also read about the Lagon Vert (we'll do the Lagon Bleu for sure) and the Ile aux récifs. Are those worth seeing too?
