We have decided to go with an OWB bungalow at Le Tahaa, and a garden or beach bungelow at Te Tiare.
Are the garden and beach bungalows comparable (other than location)? Are there locations/unit numbers we should request which offer better views, and better privacy?
We are leaning towards the garden bungalow, any insight would be appreciated.
thanks

Look at the layout of the resort at the Taha'a. (You can find maps on line). Some of the inner pontoons have decks that face each other (I mean, the decks of the rooms on one pontoon look at the decks of the rooms on the pontoon directly across). Some of rooms in that same category are angled so that's less of a problem. The outer pontoons also have some privacy issues, particularly the ones by the pool/beach/activity area. I think those ones are the Bora Bora ones.
Just a heads-up in case you like to sunbathe topless when in private. (I do, but only when totally private. I know I should be less inhibited in a French territory, but I am really modest.)
Also, draw the curtain across the big sliding glass door at night if you are scampering around with the lights on -- you may be visible to the pontoon deck or to another room. Found that out the embarrassing way.

thanks for your insight about Le Tahaa. We would love more info about location and the differences between the beach and two types of garden categories of bungalows at Te Tiare. (In looking at the bungalow location map for this resort they also show a garden bungalow and premium garden bungalow.)
thanks again

We've been to Te Tiare twice. On our first trip, we stayed in a deep OWB; the second trip, we stayed in #24- a premium garden bungalow at the back of the property. The beach bungalows are #'s 4 thru 9. IMO these offer less privacy than either of the typed of garden bungalows because the beach (where most guests spend most of the day) is narrow and everyone on the beach is right outside your bungalow and deck. The premium garden bungalows I think are the best option. These are right behind the beach bungalows so still close to the beach and offer more privacy. The best ones are probably #'s 14, 25, or 15 because these are off the main walkway without being too far back. Next level of preference would be 13 or 24. The regular garden bungalows are pretty close to the pool and main house, and are either along the main walkways, behind the pool enclosure or further from the beach. That being said, keep in mind Te Tiare is not a very large resort and the interiors of the bungalows are all the same so everything is relative.
