Rod- you're a man after my own heart. I really appreciate it. The ones I lost were a deep ice blue/medium sky blue, with a iridescent overlay. I can sent you a fabric swatch or the panatone number if that makes it easier for a color comparison. They were slightly ringed, but the luster was B+/A. The part that makes me really sick is that they were only $35 US apiece.... My jeweler just about died when I showed them to her.

I'll ask Henri to help me find these. Since you need a pair, it might be challenging (but just means I get to look longer in those boxes of pearls). I'll see what I can do. I doubt they will be $35 USD. Maybe add a zero on the end.

I know... <sigh> $350 isn't that bad really. Still kills me to think that the morons who stole them have no clue what they're worth or even what they are. If they weren't tossed out some hoochie is probably cruising around with them on.

for 35 us$ you must have bought them on the street or something? Not even on a pearl farm have I seen grade B/A luster 12-14mm blue matching pearls for that price?

I bought them from Catherine on Manihi, direct from the farm boutique at the Pearl Resort. We bought 15 baroques, and a couple perfect rounds. She said she was having a hard time selling them. No one would believe her that blue is the most rare. I took them and ran away quickly.
The blues were in her cookie jar of baroques. I don't know why they were in there either. Both had a whitish knob on one side, as well as slightly ringed, but other than a few dents they were really glossy. The cap hid the knob perfectly.

Justine2 - sorry to hear about the loss of your pearls. I went through a similar experience several years ago. Lost pretty much all of my jewelry including some beautiful dark aubergine studs. Haven't found anything similar in color since.

Justine, no blues above 9 mm. I'll keep checking. Their 11 mm baroques are $73 each in peacock, and I think with very good lustre and reflection. Larger probably runs closer to or above $100 each. Only blues were 9 mm, and I only found one that was medium blue. I spent an hour in there today just looking and looking for you and for Paraskevi. Might pick up a nice "grand opening" piece today or Friday. Addicting!

Justine, I hope you are able to visit Hawai'i if you can't make it to FP to get replacements for your stolen pearls. The selection in quality and colors of loose pearls are incredible and at prices that you just won't believe are possible. (Stepping into this shop is like being back in Tahiti.) I'll keep checking for your blue pearls periodically as more pearls arrive. By the way, our Tahiti Market salesperson (who is from the BB boutique) picked out an incredible and very beautiful replacement peacock to replace my wife's blue pearl that was lost at Honolulu Airport. I also picked up that grand opening piece for my wife. She loves it.

Justine, if you have no luck with Tahiti Pearl Mart, Hawai'i, try Josh Humbert of Kamoka Pearls - maybe he can help http://www.kamokapearls.com/
When you get some, put a pic up for us to see. I'm sure we'd all love to see some 11mm blues! :-)
