Here are some ideas I have for Tahiti 1. Make organic body soaps, lotions and shampoos and export. I went to high school with a girl who had nothing and started a body care business in her basement-Thymes something. It's sold in high end stores 2. Take all of those plastic bottles and reformulate them for decking, lumber etc. Rot is such a huge problem as well as the plastic itself. With billionaires going down the tubes daily in the US, I don't know how well tourism is going to do. Japan is not doing well either. China does own America ( I believe that they have lent the US the most money), so maybe they will have the cash for tourism.

I think Elma (Moorea 944's girlfriend) makes soaps over there. At least I think that's what I heard. I never did ask her about them.

Some news on Eden Parc (formerly located on Huahine) for those who are into organic food (hard to find in FP). I got the following email from Gilles Te Hau Parzy:
Roger, ia ora na,
Still on work but now, mainly for Organic farming and processing promotion !...
Selling Eden Parc's products and from other organic farmers at Papeete every Wednesday (afternoons) and Saturday (mornings), at Taunoa, just beside the school Rai Tama.
Regards
Te aroha ia rahi
