Can anyone share their experiences if they had stayed in either hotel? Which is better? What activities are available to do around these hotels?

Is there a reason you are not looking at the IC? It is easily the best hotel on the island. How long will you be staying on Tahiti? Just overnight or a for a couple days?

I agree with Patti -- take a look at the Intercontinental Tahiti!

I have stayed at all three. All different. The Sheraton is close to town, rooms are newly redone and the pool is nice. The service and food is terrible. Nothing great. The Le Meridien feels more like your on vacation. Its quiet and the food is good. Far from town, but its nice. I like the Le Meridien its relaxing hotel. Rooms are OK. The InterConti is nice, not too far from town, rooms are nice, service and food OK and it is a resort. Prices are higher at the Inter Conti than Le Meridien

We have a different opinion of Sheraton Tahiti. Always good, always willing to serve, nice rooms, decent food. Most nights spent there in a a row: 4. Complaints: None. Le Truck: across the street. Next reservation: 31 May.

Same here. Although it's only been overnight. This year we stay at the Airport Motel. Closer to the airport and cheaper than Sheraton.

I know a few local who will not go there because of the terrible

I agree with Andy -- we have had terrible service (and food) at the Sheraton, and much prefer the IC. Le Meridien is good too, but not our favorite. We generally don't stay long at these places on Tahiti, just an overnight on a night arrival on the way to Moorea the next day.
