I bought a pearl pendant last time we were there, and would like to buy some small pearl earrings to wear with the necklace, but I'm not sure where to shop. We bought the pendant from the hotel giftshop on our last day in town last time (we weren't planning to do it, my husband thought it would be a nice reminder of our honeymoon), so I'd like to go some place with a better selection this time. Does anyone have any recommendations on Moorea? We are staying at the Pearl, but we'll have a car for a couple of days, so we can go to another part of the island. Thanks!

I recommend Pai Moana Pearls (near Petit Village, around PK 26) for a good selection and nice prices. Also Tahia Collins in that same general area. Don't forget to window shop at the Mareiti Pearl shop at the Tahiti Airport when you arrive! They have a suprisingly nice selection at good prices (for an airport store). Stay away from hotel gift shops!

On Moorea we recomend Eva's next to the Banque of Tahiti. Read her great reviews on Trip Advisor all 5s. Eva is a wonderful young French lady who was educated in the US. She holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh

I agree with Barbi on the airport shop. They do have a good selection.
Can't help with shops on Moorea, but you might want to swing by the pearl market in Papeete, if you are going into town to do any shopping while on Tahiti. (My husband and I often put our luggage in the "consigne" and take a taxi in, if we have a long enough lay-over.)
