really great report thanks! The women with the broken wrist and her girlfriend sat next to us on our flight back to Los Angeles. By the time we got on the plane, the entire flight had heard about her accident. I did feel sorry for her but she really enjoyed being the "do for me patient."In a wheel chair for an arm injury?.My boyfriend sneezed a couple of times and she jumped out of her seat like a rabbit thinking he had a cold and that it would jeopardize her upcoming surgery..Anyway. Too bad about the ferry and ride to airport. It was 900xpfs for the ferry and 1700xpfs to the airport for us.

LOL! Actually if it was the same woman(probably was,the timing sounds about right), the wheel chair bit might have also been for her toe. The day after the scooter accident it seems she tripped over a cat near her room and broke her toe. She may have been having trouble walking long distances. And...then again...some people really do enjoy being fussed over.

A scooter accident causing a broken arm then tripping and breaking her toe. With that luck, if I was on her flight, I probably would have booked a different flight.

Patti, I am Tim, husband of member Carol S. (Didn't we meet on the boat party?) We own an OWB at CBH and go each year...for over a dozen years. I have taken a zillion pictures, of course, and too many to count of Bali Hai Mountain. Yours are among the best.
Your trip report was very well done and a pleasure to read. Nice work. You pictures were excellent and the slide show with music beautifully done. You get an A+. What camera are you using. The close-up of the hole in the mountain tells me it may be more than my 7MP Canon SD 850. But the composition of the photos was superb. How did you order up that rainbow?
Regards, Tim Scheck

Hi Tim, yes we met at the Trader Vics last summer. We were the Bruins.
Glad you enjoyed the pictures. I'm with you...I must have a zillion pictures too. It's getting hard to find new things to take pictures of there....so I find myself taking the same ones over and over, hoping that something will look just a little bit different this time. I do try to set up my pictures with some composition in mind, rather than just a basic snapshot. But I'm not a super serious photographer. I don't want to mess with all kinds of lens and settings and stuff. I just try to take the best picture I can with a point and shoot.
Actually my camera is not near as nice as yours. It is just a Sony DSC-H1 5.1MP. The rainbow....I knew right after it rained that we'd have one. Just the position of the sun, the direction the clouds were moving in....I had a real good feeling that a great rainbow was on it's way. So I just sat out on the porch, camera in hand, waiting for it. Only had to wait about 5 minutes. So often the rainbows happen so quickly, if you're not out waiting for them, you miss them.
The underwater pictures were taken with an Olympus Stylus 770SW 7.1MP that can go underwater. It actaully took some great underwater pictures. I loved the shark ones especially! Hopefully as I use it more, I'll get a little bit better with it. I'm having a lot of trouble catching the fish before it swims away!

Nice report Patti! Very informative~
One question, do you know if there's any regulation on what food you can bring to FP? I know at least of entering US you can't bring meat and fruit.
We are usually budget travelers and like to bring some food with us to save money if possible. but wondering if we can bring only packaged snacks or we can also bring meat too...
Thanks in advance for any info!!

Well, supposedly you aren't allowed to bring in beef. But I have brought a few bags of beef jerkey on every one of my 5 trips and have never has anyone question it. I have also brought some ready cooked bacon strips and a couple Hickory Farms summer sausage sticks.
What you decide to bring will depend a lot on where you are staying and if you have cooking facilities.
