Hello Everyone! I love this site. it has been so helpful already. I am going on my honeymoon this coming October and I was wondering if anyone had specific room reservations for Sofitel Moorea (both over water and beach front), Kia Ora in Rangiroa (beach with pool or jacizzi or over water), and Thalasso Bora Bora (is there a difference between the Emerald rooms and the Sapphire rooms?) thank you for all advice in advance!

We are doing Sofitel Moorea and Thalasso in Oct also, what days are you going? Many have suggested left side of Sofitel resort for beach bungalows. The Sapphire rooms are farther out and face the lagoon, whereas Emeralds face the resort.

Thank you for the advice! We are going to be in Tahiti the first two weeks of October. When will you be there? We have opted for the Emerald rooms at the Thalasso and I am going to inquire about the left side of the Sofitel since we are doing half over water and half in beach bungalows there.

For Rangiroa, I would HIGHLY recommend the deluxe beach bungalow with the plunge pool. They are at the far end of the resort, so it is quiet, nice snorkelling right in front, and the view is spectacular. The deluxe beach bungalows are new, and have recently been "touched up" new stain on deck, etc. We stayed there in Nov 2007 and can't say enough good things about the hotel and the bungalows.
