Personally, 2 weeks is too long to spend on the motu especially when you are unable to eat dinners on the mainland or see a show. Maybe consider doing one week on the motu and one week on the mainland. Best of both worlds.

6pm - pretty much means you would have to cook for yourself every night. And dinner out is sort of the highlight of each evening.
