When we did the shark feeding on Bora Bora, we were in a huge outrigger canoe. You went over the side of the boat & held onto the outrigger (you were between it & the boat). There weren't a lot of people on the tour (I'm guessing maybe 10-12?) so there was plenty of room to hold on and watch. The only problem I had is I float really well so the outrigger was at the top of my first underwater photos (before hubby started pushing me under so I could get better photos, LOL!).

I agree with IB, Huahune was an amazing shark feeding. Especially when the feeder motioned me to come out in the middle of it with him. I anchored myself to and old anchor that was there. I was pushing sharks off my chest, they were that close.

Hi everyone, thank you. Sadly we are not going to Huahine - we have chosen Moorea and Rangiroa...so, does anyone know where i should book:
- Shark feeding (or should we say fish feeding?)
and
- Ray feeding/swimming with rays
please?
Moorea or Rangiroa? and oh and which operator?
I heard of one operator that feeds the sharks and only lets you watch - we actually want to feed them, are we asking for too much?
THANK YOU

You didn't say RANGI earlier! Tiputa pass is world famous for its shark dives . . . but I don't know if there is a snorkelling version of that dive. If you scuba, that's the top option, but it is a bit weather and current dependent - it doesn't go every day.

Here's a different "shark feeding" situation - at Sauvage (KOS) on Rangiroa we were in shallow water floating horizontally with our hands on the lagoon floor to stabilize and the sharks swam around with us - probably 15 or 20. The host told us to remain still and to not reach out for any reason. Was pretty freaky and a couple gals didn't want to be in the water. I had to do it!

So you're going to find reef sharks pretty much anywhere you go in FP. The number may just vary from place to place. How much excitement do you want?
