Kiwi, we hope you enjoy Les Tips, its always been great for us. I'm familiar with the "no picnic" rule on the beach, but thats never been a big issue for us. We either just go back to the bungalow (yes, the Garden Bungalow w/kitchen is separate from other rooms) to make lunch, or are off property, or enjoy YUMMY lunch at their beachside restaurant. There is a grassy area adjacent to the beach that has a table or two, but I don't know if you can bring your own picnic there either. I think the "no picnic" rule is to discourage non-guests from just using their beach without eating at their restaurant, but thats my own assumption.
One thing we brought with us last time that was a big help is a portable screen door. Its the kind you tape up and it hangs loose with magnets. Although the windows are screened, the sliding glass door you enter through is not. Having the screen door there was great to get a nice breeze in the room. You do get a breeze even with the door shut, as you have windows on 3 sides of the room and a ceiling fan. My last stay there was 2006, so I only have semi-current info, but am happy to answer any other questions.

Eperera-what is a portable screen door? Where did you get it or did you make it yourself? This sounds like a great solution for the FP sliding glass door issue.

Here is a link to one very similar to ours:
http://www.improvementscatalog.com/home/improvements/792924471-drop-down-instant-bug-screens.html
I can't remember where we got ours, but it wasn't more than $20. It worked great! Has velcro stickers at the top and weights at the bottom. At Les Tip, the doors slide apart from the middle, double the width of this screen, but we were able to have one side of the door open. It rolled up flat in our suitcase, and weighs very little. We'll definitely be bringing it next time....whenever THAT is!

Eperera,
What a great idea! Thanks for posting that link.
The problem in FP, even with window screens, is that if your bungalow has a thatched roof, the mosquitoes can get in that way too, so it's not possible to completely keep them out.
But window and door screens definitely help! And we burn a mosquito coil in the bungalow at night too. They are sold locally in boxes of ten coils for about $2, called "Fish" or "Zap."
