Dear French Polynesia Travellers
I'm going to Moorea on my own the first time next year in February. I'm looking for a nice but not upmarket accommodation on the beach.
I wouldn't mind sleeping in a dorm or a hostel that doesn't cost much more than $50/night (which is already budget enough I guess for Moorea). Can anyone recommend a clean place, if possible with a kitchen (it'd be great if breakfast is included)?
Thanks for your help! Geli

BarbiJKM I have a question if you could answer? Is camp grounds on Moorea like camp grounds in the U.S. ? As far as using tents and camp sites.

We saw a few tents at the campgound a couple weeks ago when we were there. Others stayed at the campground in the small bungalows. There may be a sort of bunk-house, too. The grounds were nice, too. The tents were on the grass.

Thanks for your help!
Another question: Has anybody stayed in Fare Maeva on Temae? It costs around $70/night, but seems to make a good impression. It also seems to be close to Teavaro Beach, which is supposed to be the nicest beach on the island.

Superstar, Yes, the campgrounds have grass areas for pitching a tent as well as dormitory sleeping and also small huts. The bathrooms and showers are separate and communal, and they have one big kitchen area for all to use.

This is a travel forum, not a car loan or camping forum.
