Hi everyone, My Fiancee and I are planning a honeymoon to Moorea in Late October 2008. We wanted to stay somewhere where they have great snorkle spots. We decided on going to Moorea because we want to do a lot of snorkleing and be active hiking, kayaking.. things that we can explore. I would love it if you could advice me on great places to snorkel. Thank you so much.

What kind of budget do you have? The Sheraton has great snorkelling and offers overwater bungalows if that interests you. Closeby is the Pension Motu Iti which has equally good (some say better) snorkelling, but they only have beach and garden bungalows. The Sheraton's a big resort, the Motu Iti is a small, local-run pension so you could choose based on price/preference. The kayaks are free to use at the Motu Iti (I don't know about the Sheraton since we only walked around there a few times, but didn't stay there).

Thanks for the reply. We had actually looked at the Sheraton that was in our budget. We haven't really found a lot on snorkeling spots, or where to go snorkeling. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The best snorkeling from a hotel is at the Sheraton. If you stay there, you will find tons of great snorkeling right off the over water bungalows.
Another spot that has good snorkeling is the channel between the 2 motu's off the NW coast of Moorea. You can either take a motu picnic tour out there, which would give you about an hours snorkeling time...along with stops on the way, to feed the sharks and sting rays. Or take a shuttle boat out there and spend the whole afternoon.
