I'm sure you won't regret it! We didn't mind at all our first time around. But since it's our 2nd trip we wanted to mix up a few things. Plus we'll still have to take a ferry to the other hotel etc.. not exactly right in town or anything.
It was fun just getting a free ride on the water everyday :)
Sometimes I can get "too" sucked in reading post after post and second guessing my choices. I've heard lots of good things about Pearl Beach. I'd be happy staying on a hammock somewhere if I had a nice view and an umbrella!

I just remembered we're planning on getting tattooed again on Bora Bora so we'll have to make that our last stop instead of Tahaa (which everyone says save the best for last) but it's all good. I'd rather enjoy the water in Tahaa than worry about my new tattoo!

don't worry Lina, the pearl is a nice (typical polynesian styled) resort, has beautiful lagoon colors around it, big motu so you can walk around and nice view of Otemanu the mountain, they have shuttles every hour to the main land and a taxi (free) to transport you to the main village Vaitape

Lina, you'll love Pearl. We were there in 2006 then went onto Le Taha'a. Le Taha'a is still the best place we have EVER stayed. The shuttle and bus service to Viatape is excellent. I hope Xavier is still at the Pearl, because he is a legend. You CERTAINLY didn't make a mistake choosing to stay at the Pearl. We love that place. Mrswaves, who are you getting tattooed by? Marama or Fati?

2 months before final payment is due and here's our itinerary! 26 October 2009 Los Angeles -> Papeete!!
Tahiti-InterContinental Resort 1 Night Garden View Room
Moorea-Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort 4 Nights Superior Lagoon View Beach Bungalow
Tahaa-Le Tahaa Island Resort and Spa 3 Nights Tahaa Overwater Suite
Bora Bora -InterContinental Resort and Thalasso Spa 4 Nights Sapphire Overwater Villa
Thoughts? Opinions? I'm very last minute thinking if we should up our time in Tahaa and take out Moorea?? Or keep as is!
I adore this site and read it daily. Hopefully I'll have my own opinions to contribute after this 2nd trip. Honeymoon flew by and was in a lovely daze the whole time! This time I'm bringing a notebook and writing random things down :)

I think your itinerary looks good (especially for you since you guys loved Bora Bora the first time and didn't find 7 nights too long that time...it would be too long for me, *g*). You're starting with the busier island (Moorea...though it's not really busy, of course) and then chilling out on Tahaa and Bora Bora. I would have reversed those islands but I see you're getting a tattoo on Bora Bora so that has to be last. Personally, I'd go 4 nights at Le Tahaa and 3 at the Thalasso, but I don't think either choice is bad. I think you'll enjoy this trip!

Thanks so much for your thoughts! We did love Bora Bora (Ok we loved everything!) It has been *so* difficult deciding what to do/which island/order/etc. 3rd trip back we'll probably skip Tahaa and 1 other and see a new island or 2 :) Only 4 months to go!

Less than 1 week!! My has time flown by. I cannot believe it's been 5 whole years since we first went to FP. I have had many, many dreams about going back and now we're so, so close.
Again I thank everyone on the board (and Yves for getting us such a fantastic package etc) Opinions from seasoned FP travelers have been priceless in determining our "plan" for both trips.
I can't wait to just lay, read & take in the amazing surroundings.
Oh! Here is my "Tribute to Tahiti" tattoo..all my favorite things..Lush flowers, scenery, beautiful people, colors.. Hopefully nobody is offended but I felt like sharing :) I got it a bit over a year ago from an artist with a style I admire.

Not that you asked, but here is my tattoo by Marama 5 years ago...

I know people have randomly asked about tattoos on Bora Bora and I highly recommend Marama. Very cool guy, and so talented. He did this free-hand :)
