We (four of us) will be arriving in Moorea by plane in the early morning. How much will a taxi to the Sofitel cost? Can 4 people fit into one taxi?

WHen flying AIr Moorea you can purchase (prior to boarding in Tahiti, at the terminal) transfer coupons at 600 cfp/pp which will take you anywhere on Moorea (on the main road). 4 pax would be 2400 cfp and my guess is the taxi would be around the same for 4. Most taxi's are mini vans, so plenty of room for you and the luggage. The Sofitel is 5 minutes from the airport

The transfers for 600 CFP are a great deal! Be sure and buy them at the Air Moorea counter in Papeete when you check in, and get enough for a round trip back to the Moorea Airport from the Sofitel, as they are not sold on Moorea. With 4 people plus all your luggage, the transfer van will be better for you than a taxi, for sure.

We got transfers, which the hotel arranged, from the airport to Sofitel at 600pf per person for a total of 2400 pf. When we left the hotel we grabbed a cab to the airport which cost 1400 pf. So it seems if you are more than 2 people get the cab!
