I'm newly registered, but had to say thanks for all the info, it helped my fiance and I book our honeymoon! Question, I searched and could not find a recent answer to this: Has anyone seen Manta Rays in Bora Bora recently? I think on one post, it was the Hotel Bora Bora they used to be seen, but that was over a year ago I believe. Any info would be great, we leave in 2 weeks and can't wait.

In November 2007, we were told by the dive organization we were with that the Manta Rays are no longer predictable because of the construction around Bora Bora. Hopefully with some of these resorts almost complete it will be easier to find them. We were fortunate to see them, leaping (yup surprised us too!) from the water, on our way to a dive site. I would suggest asking the dive operator at your hotel where they have seen them lately.

I booked a tour through Chez Nono, part of the tour was feeding the rays. They are beautiful. It was a highlight of the trip. The excusion was great. (I was there last week)Enjoy Joan

joan k, are you sure they weren't stingrays? Most of the shark & ray tours see stingrays, not manta rays.

I saw a manta ray on a stingray tour in 2005. It was the tour that docks their boat at Club Med...Maramu perhaps?

A manta ray would be about the size of a Volkswagen.
