No Andy, I don't think it would be a mistake at all! There must be a reason you picked BH, so I would stick with that choice -have you been in touch with Raphaël?). My tastes prob not match someone else's so I could not decide for you (like I would be more concerned if they had enough cold hinano's rather than looking at the scenery which I see everyday LMAO), just kidding but you know what I mean ? !! Place looks ok and for the récif side... I just think that is great, for example at St Regis people are horified when getting a beach bungalow at the ocean side but they are just superb, it is true Polynésian nature!

That reassures me...Thanks. The reason it caught my eye it that it was on a motu, away from the big resorts and it seems very clean and quiet. They're nice and all, but we didn't want the big resort feel and prices...(yikes!). In 2006, we did experienced the owb in Moorea and that was fantastic, but in order to be able to go back longer, we have to make sacrifices. Shorter time, spend more $$ or stay longer and live more modestly. We had also done the PG cruise and I find I didnèt really experience BB (only 2 days). This time, we're doing Fakarava for 5 nights (Raimiti), BB for 7 and Moorea for 7. We wanted to do other islands, but unless you have 2-3 months, it's difficult. The flight schedules are tricky when you only have 1 flight a week somewhere...!
Yes, Raphaël and I have been exchanging quite a few emails over the last week. Does he lives there? You know him? He seems like a cool dude...on emails anyway! Boy...it is a small place..you guys know everyone! It's just that I'll be celebrating a very special birthday, right there on that motu, and I didn't want to be disappointed with the place. The fares and the grounds look very good, but sometimes on the internet, they don't show you exactly what it really looks like. I was a bit worried with the actual location. I do want some beach!! Do you think François would mind me visiting Motu Tane? Heeheehee!
Anyway, maybe we can meet when I'm there.

For May 14 to 21, 2009. I wouldn`t want Raphaël to be offended..! As long as we`re not "confined" to the récif side that we can walk around, that there a nice beach and we can kayak around, we`ll be ok. By the way, how`s the drinking water on motus?

By the way...much appreciated if you can visit...:0) I hope to be able to go out and fish myself when we`re there. I`ll have to ask Raphael if he has a couple of spare fishing rods...! Mauruu'ru!

I think you are gonna be just fine... small motu's do not get drinking water from the main island so it would be bottled water

Poehere, did you finally go fishing last weekend? Did you see Raphaël? My husband wanted to surprise me for my b-day and looked into some good deals at the BB Pearl and/or the Meridien...So we will most likely do a 2-3 nights at Blue Heaven and finish at the Pearl.
We also added Rangiroa to our initerary...I just can`t wait for May! Thanks for all your help.

No, no fishing due to wind Andy (it has been very windy for a very long time) but hopefully this weekend ?! Did you book already? Sounds good plan to divide your stay between BH and the Pearl. Tuamotus are superb especially if you're into diving and/or fishing, so you'll be doing both, Fakarava and Rangiroa?

I have read in other postings that it's been very windy...hmmm...unusual?
Not, I haven't booked the accommodations yet in BB or Moorea. We're looking for good deals. I like where the Pearl is located and those bungalows with pools are awesome! I booked my inter-island flights though.
We decided to add Rangiroa might as well while we're there! (Kia Ora had an offer we couldn't refuse...). I would have liked to do other islands, but some have very limited flight schedules so it makes it a bit difficult to coordonate. I'm more of a snorkler than a diver (I tried once and had problem with my ears), but my husband has done it before and would like to take it up again. We both like fishing, so we'd like to be able to do that somewhere. Someone told me that Rangiroa and Fakarava are very similar and that it might not be a good idea...true? I had pretty much figured that they would be, being atolls, but I think every island has its something special. Where else can you have a lagoon within a lagoon!!
Mon Dieu, je ne vois pas comment j'aurais pu organiser ce voyage à deux mois d'avis...C'est presque qu'un emploi à plein temps!!

Mieux vaut se préparer afin d'éviter les surprises... Je veux essayer d'aller au BH
Atolls are atolls but I spent couple of years in Rangi and have visited many of the others and still think each has its own character so to speak. Last year spent 2 months on the atoll of Hao (Eastern tuamotus) that is a little different as there are no tourists ever but the joy of fishing and star gazing is really something!
If snorkling you should absolutely do the Tiputa pass, flow with the current it is amazing and breathtaking you won't regret!
