Sunday in Papeete

We will be arriving in Papeete on a Saturday night but plan to spend one night before taking the ferry over to Moorea for 3 days pre-cruise. I would like to see a little of Papeete. What do you recommend for a Sunday that is a must see?

Early in the morning 6am-to 7am go to the Public Market in downtown Papeete. Go to church and hear some of the greatest singing you will ever hear. After the market closes about 10:30
the town dies. Rent a car and drive around the island is another
choice.

Thanks for the suggestions. We plan to visit the market on the return trip before we board our cruise. But I would like very much to visit a church. If we do rent a car what would you recommend we try to see?

Ooops I just noticed that you say you are from Washington/Moorea. That is where we will spend Sunday afternoon - Wednesday morning. What do you suggest for Moorea? Thanks
