hi, first time posting on this forum - seems to be full of really helpful information!
visiting moorea in october, and have planned really carefully so that we can splurge on an OWB on our last 2 nights. now the question is, which one?? important to me...clear blue water, ability to snorkel right from the bungalow, and decent sized deck so we can totally relax at the end of our trip. also, is there any way to guaranteee which bungalow you end up with? seems there are obvious "best" view bungalows way out in the ocean, but how do you secure one of these??
last question - i'm kinda leaning towards sofitel (good price on orbitz) but from what i've read on this board, eating there is not so great. will other restaurants pick you up from there? anything within walking distance?
ok, that's it for now...thank you all in advance!

We stayed at the Sheraton Moorea and really enjoyed it. I had read that the snorkling there was the best on the island and as far as I can tell, it was true! Very clear water, lots of coral and fish right at your feet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee the bungalow you want.

...sorry, you can specify you want a premium or horizon bungalow, but they can't guarantee which exact one you'll get. :0)

Sofitel is ont he east side of Mo'orea, so you'll get sunrises but no sunsets. It's fairly close to Maharepa, where there are places to eat. Sheraton Moorea where we have stayed is a little isolated but I know Te Honu Iti will pick you up. It really is helpful to have a rental car if you plan to eat out. You can request a particular bungalow but there's not guarantee. Seems like everyone is requesting specific rooms so it's rare to get the one you've requested in advance. We've been happy with the rooms we've been assigned except at the Sofitel Motu in BB where we requested to be moved once we arrived at the resort and found out which room they were going to put us in. Maybe that's the time to ask.
