For a first trip to FP/BB, would you stop at Moorea first before doing BB, or advise to skip Moorea? If you say to include it, how would you split/divide the 7 nights between the two- 3 and 4, or just 2 and 5? I'm set on Moorea Sofitel and BB Thalasso, so no discussion needed there.
Thanks!

3 nights Moorea, 4 nights BB. Views on Tahiti from the Sofitel are breathtakingly beautiful, you will not regret at all and besides Moorea is green, lush, mountain peaks that you cannot describe, so different from BB
BB, well the lagoon colors, mix all tints of green, blue turquoise and well... just amazing Thalasso... very very VERY nice. What makes you hesitate in your choice?

I've just been reading trip reports, many of 1st timers or honeymooners, who are so blown away by BB once arriving there from Moorea.

Arriving in Bora is incredible, regardless of where you are coming from!!! the colors of the lagoon are out-of-this-world beautiful. But for an island experience, Moorea is the place. Bora island is no great shakes at all period. To summarize, we agree totally with Poehere......go for it and try to sit on the left side of the plane en route to Bora so you can see the lagoon from the air....AWESOME!!!

Cool. I'm getting the picture. Moorea- land, and Bora- lagoon. Hence, the "surf & turf" reference!

AHowell~ That is exactly correct. Moorea is all about he island...although the lagoon is still nice. And Bora Bora is all about the lagoon...although the view of island is nice. Both really need to be experienced for the full effect.
And...although Bra Bora is amazingly beautiful, and not to be missed....for many of us, it is Moorea that captures our heart and beckons us to return...again and again.

I agree with the others (though I'd personally do 4 nights Moorea, 3 Bora Bora because I prefer Moorea, but you really want to see Bora Bora so spend more nights there). Please try not to do 2 nights on any island...that really only leaves you that one full middle day to unwind & that isn't enough. Moorea is really all about the island and renting a car to drive around or going on a 4x4 tour there is fantastic, while I'd recommend a water tour on Bora Bora (shark & ray feeding included) of some kind.
