TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.
Check our Cruises page for more information

We were on the PG for the last two weeks and friends of ours took this excursion. They said it was wonderful, but you need to be in excellent physical shape to enjoy/participate. We opted out of this and used the ship's marina that day to waterski and kayak. Cheers, Pam

Hi we did the Three coconut trail with Moorea Hiking a month ago and it was fantastic. Our guide Hiro took a lot of time answering our questions and he is very knowledgable. The view at the top is splendid and well worth the effort. The trail is in very good conditions but I'd still recommend wearing trainers. It is a half day walk (about 2 to 3 hours to go up, depending on how many stops you have) and just over an hour on the way back as you stop a lot less. We loved it and it was one of the highlight of our stay !

Hmmm, debating this one. What is the cost? I'm not really a hiking fan and I wouldn't say I am in 'excellent' physical shape. However, I have this fetish for endurance and can usually torture myself through anything. Crashed my Hobie a few years ago in a storm and swam over a mile with a cooler strapped around my neck then jogged 5 miles back to my truck in more or less the same shape I am now.

Submarine-that is a funny story! It probably wasn't funny at the time, but you have to admit it's a great one now.

Well that was the short version:
Went sailing on Roosevelt Lake in August with the then-wife. I was moving pretty good, flying a hull when a microburst hit and we were getting 3ft whitecaps. Started heading for shore and was within 2000 yards when it blew so hard I just went over; no chance to do anything. Microbursts can have up to 80mph winds so I was pretty much screwed. So the wife ripped one of my sails and I was trying to right the boat but a porthole came out and half filled a hull with water so every time I tried to right the boat it flipped over again. The wind was pushing on the mesh trampoline so hard it blew me at 2 or 3 knots across the lake in the wrong direction. Some boaters stopped to help but their motor was too small to pull it upright. So I put the wife on the boat and stayed with my Hobie the 5 miles or so across Roosevelt. Wife said the boaters started praying on the boat which was weird because we are not religious. So I end up in some reeds in about 30 feet of water with the mast scraping. Decided I was going to swim for shore and took the cooler packed with drinks. Strapped that around my neck and started swimming. About half way I thought "hey, I could drown huh" but I was too focused on what I was doing to let that discourage me so eventually I made it to shore. Found a trail a little ways back and started jogging to where my truck was. Good thing I was wearing Teva's! Made it to my truck and it wasn't there. So I sat down and waited, figuring everyone was looking for me. Then I see my boat coming across, towed by some sheriff's. They had trashed it pretty good but did get it out. Besides the porthole, the mast had filled with water and I was screwed. So the wife and friends eventually showed up and everyone thought I was dead because the Sheriff had radioed that the boat was unoccupied. So I got it home and within a month or so I was sailing again! Too bad I didn't know what I do now and or I would have been minus one crew member, lost at sea!

well we self guided this hike ourselves after a tip from Damon the ATV tour guie that was at the Belvedere when we got there Tuesday. Pretty steep when you get to the second half of the hike but the wine/poisson cru picnic lunch tasted that much better! I was just glad I could keep up with my hiker g/f.
