Moorea verses Bora Bora

Hi,
I am going for part of my honeymoon to Tahiti, and we were planning on Bora Bora, but...it is so much more to fly to Bora Bora than to go to Moorea.
Does anyone think that if we skip Bora Bora and just do Moorea we would really miss out? or is Moorea really beautiful to.
and which is the best resort in Moorea?, we were thinking the Sheraton in an OW Bungalow.
Would really appreciate any advice.

Bora Bora has a stunningly beautiful lagoon. But...I do not believe you will suffer at all by skipping it. Moorea is a absolutely beautiful island. Actually the island itself is much more beautiful than Bora Bora. And Moorea have a very nice lagoon, just not as spectacular as that of Bora Bora.
I personally do not like Bora Bora. It's really beautiful.....but, in my opinion...it is overpriced, over built, and not overly friendly as compared to Moorea. The whole vibe on Moorea is much warmer and much more friendly. I think you can have a marvelous time without going to Bora Bora. I've been to Bora once, and Moorea 4 times. It was Moorea that captured my heart and beckons me to return again, and again, and again...
Going to Bora Bora will add considerably to the price. Not just the flight...everything there...hotels, activities, restaurants, is about 20-25% higher than Moorea.
Yes, the Moorea Sheraton would be a fine choice.

Double Ditto......you will not suffer from skipping Bora. Moorea is a gorgeous island and the lagoon offers much for water activities.
We've stayed at the Moorea Sheraton several times and have really enjoyed our times there. See my trip report regarding our experiences there this summer.
Have fun planning but BEWARE: We went to FP on our honeymoon 28 years ago, caught the Tahitian Flu and have returned many many times!

We stayed on Moorea and Bora Bora this summer. The Sheraton Moorea was our favorite part. Everyday I dream I'm back in our OWB watching the beautiful sunrise. Go for the Sheraton Moorea, you'll love it.

We swapped Bora Bora for Manihi. Slightly different from the typical Bora Bora/ Moorea package that many freshmen take. The decision was purely financial at the time. We personally had no regrets. Manihi fulfilled our expectations. And afterward, from the remarks I've seen here on the board, it looks like we made a good decision. We probably would have had the same experience if we went to Bora Bora. But that would have bankrupted me.
We'll eventually make it to Bora Bora on a third or fourth trip.
