Thanks, Poehere! I do like the idea of staying at a Sofitel rather than a Sheraton in FP. Seems weird to go all that way and stay at a Sheraton!

Poehere, I have spent many a morning on the deck at sunrise. Just perfectly beautiful. Some of my best photos IMHO.

I like the snorkeling at the SHeraton Moorea and the pool. The overall service has gone down thou. The Sofitel was recently redone and it suppose to be very nice. Not sure about the service, it use to be a big issue there. Go where you get the best deal

My wife and I spent our 21st annivesary on Moorea and Bora Bora. You need to see Bora Bora at least once in your life. We are heading back for our 25th (she does not know yet, I am surprising her at Christmas with the trip) and will just be staying on Moorea this time.

We will be staying at the Sofitel again because we both fell in love with it our first time there.

my "husband to be" and I really want to go to bora bora for our honeymoon but we thought about moorea too. Which island has more to do as far as sights to see and adventure?

Jensters, just go to both islands. 3-4 nights on each island is perfect for most people and you really don't want to travel all that way just for a few nights anyway.

Just back from Moorea and Bora Bora 2/12-2/17. We stayed at Sofitel Moorea and it was by far the best experience we had while we were there. Our OWB 200 was the first one closest to the beach, an upgrade from the garden bungalow we booked. Wonderful snorkeling and practically a private beach. 5ft. deep water at all times was perfect depth and visibility for snorkeling. The resort was small by comparison to the others we stayed at (LeMeridien Bora Bora and St. Regis Bora Bora). We would go back to the Sofitel Moorea again for sure. Bora Bora, probably not. The St. Regis was wonderful but a little "Disney" like. It was a bit too perfect and formal to have the welcoming feel that Sofitel Moorea did. Service and food were great! Enjoy!
