We too do the backpack carry-on/ grocery bag thing. Gota love those multi-taskers.

I wouldn't necessary call them coffee makers in the traditional sense. But yes, a hot water heater is apart of the in-room amenities. It's a water pitcher with a built in heating element. Works great for any sort of "just add hot water" stuff. BTW the coffee you get in your room is instant.

As Patti mentioned previously. Rooms also include a dorm room size fridge. These fridges do an OK job of keeping things chilled. If you're a wine enthusiast. I might suggest you also bring something to hold (and drain) ice for chilling down drinks. Those tiny buckets are a very tight fit for a single bottle plus ice.

With easy access to the market down the street and a little creativity. You can really cut down your breakfast and lunch cost. And then splurge on dinners. Just note your arrival time in Moorea and plan accordingly. I believe the market closes around 6pm?

Avitas: You had mention snorkeling and seeing fish under your bungalow. While the snorkeling at the Moorea Pearl is not the best. It's a nice thing to have when you're just loafing around. The fish, and other resort snorkeling guest, tend to hang around the overwaters and the drop-off just beyond the overwater bungalows. If you're lucky, you might even see a sea turtle in the drop-off area.

Net and a spear work great for catching wild chickens and small children...

thanks for the heads up on the grocery bag.

Great to know that FP is environmentally conscious about plastic bags~ we're so used to getting free plastic bags here in US and we're just wasteful with them. I've traveled to other countries that make you pay a small fee for them, so most people just bring their own bags.

market closes around 6pm? does most stores close early in Moorea?
