Can anyone give us some advice about hiking or walking in Moorea? Are the trails easy to find? Open to public? Difficulty?
Thanks.

I did the "three coconuts" trail off Le Belvedere. Not too difficult except for the last hour or so. I'm just in average shape. It's a good three hour hike though, each way. The last part is all switchbacks going right up the cliffside.
As you enter the parking lot of Le Belvedere, the three coconuts is on the right and another trail which goes to a pine tree is on your left (2.5 hrs). Just take that trail and take the first left turn that starts going down after a couple of hundred yards, then stay on the main trail (if you don't go left it just loops back around). Shortly you come upon a left turn that just takes you down to a waterfall. Back on the main trail you will come to a sign that says "three coconuts" and points up the hill when you come to a vista. No idea where it goes if you keep going down the main trail. Relatively easy to stay on the path.

Just ask the locals they will point you in the right direction. If you are of reasonable fitness you should be fine, it is well worth the views a must do in my opinion!
