Loc: Austria 		all the warnings against scooters in moorea notwithstanding:
what is a realistic price for a scooter if you rent for 14 days?
we got a quoote 0f 5500 cpf/day (-10%for longer rentals).
that seems to be quite much.
does anybody know a good place to rent?
we will stay in linareva.

Loc: Las Vegas, NV 		That's the same price I saw when I was there in May with Albert Car and Scooter rental. There are a few other places that rent them. But most are pretty much in the same general price range.

Also...You may not need to rent one for your entire stay. Linareva has bicycles to use for free. That will get you to some of the closer stores and shops.

You could rent a scooter for 2 or 3 days your first week and 2 or 3 days your second week and use the bike on the other days...that would help cut the cost of a 2 week rental.

Loc: Gilbert, Arizona, USA 		Go with the long term rental but wait til you get there. I would recommend the Alberts shack by Club Bali Hai as I paid only 4500/day for 12 days rental on a Hyundai Getz, manual with a/c. They don't have scooters there and might only rent them by the ferry dock. I was going to go with a scooter but the car deal was too good to pass up.
They will let you return it to the ferry dock or airport.

The shack is staffed 8-5 more or less, just call 561-928 if no one is there.
