Turkey in French is "Dinde" and JM (Mr. HAPPY TAG MAN lol and who says hello) says there are already too many "dindons" in FP and he knows one that would cook real well hahaha
I'll inquire for you at some special places and let you know (about 1 kg p/p...?)

Bob, I hope all goes well for your surgery. A Tahiti board turkey day. Great idea. I'd love to meet you and Mary in person. Jacques gave us a tour of Fare Hamara last year. Beautiful place. What day would you be arriving in FP? I assume you would fly Hawaiian airlines? Or would you be in LA for ATN?

Local friends tell me that turkeys are not available until closer to Christmas. We are vaguely considering bringing a small frozen turkey from home... but we are planning on doing the big feast at home with our family before we leave for Tahiti, and eating local food here on T-day instead. (Lobster sounds good, if available; how about lobster ravioli at Mayflower?)

Bob, you can get (frozen) whole turkeys year around at Carrefour, 495 cfp/kg Champion (Moorea) being owned and supplied by the same (Wan-) group, maybe they have it too in their assortment?

Poehere, Not currently available at Champion/Toa, and Moorean friends say Carrefour doesn't have a reliable supply until closer to Christmas, when more local people eat them here. One friend here has offered to special-order one, though, so maybe we won't have to lug a frozen bird here all the way from Arizona!
Joe, I emailed you back...
