If you had to choose between the Nui or Le Meridien on BB, which one would you choose? What is important is nice, well maintained accommodation, nice beach, nice pool area & grounds and nice restaurant/bar on site. We will definately do the overwater bungalow at whatever property we choose.

Advice? Thank you!!!!

Lori

For me, a view of Bora Bora most (or all) of the time would be really important so I'd choose Le Meridien for that reason.

Thank you. I does appear that Le Meridien has great views from the pictures I've seen. I've just heard although very lovely, it is perhaps a tad more dated then the Nui....

Depends on what you want out of a hotel. If you never leave a resort, the LeM does have a lovely view and is a bit cheaper. If you want to get into town easily, and better snorkeling, stay at the Nui. I think the Nui has larger OWB's as well.

Thank you all... BTW - I chose the Nui. OW Horizon Bungalow. Liked the idea of facing the ocean and of course ease of getting into town.

Good choice! Just returned from FP, Bora Bora on 2/15 LeM. Horrible! Under construction and disgusting. Lobby was a wreck as was the pool deck. Very dated! Not nearly as nice as Sofitel Moorea. Snorkeling was really bad at LeM by comparison. OWB was ok but nothing special. 2 feet of water, not good. We had booked there for 2 nights but after the first I knew I was not willing to stay. Contacted LeM corporate they contacted the hotel and they made me a deal I could not refuse at St. Regis, now that is what paradise should look like! I had negotiated a decent deal myself with Intercontinental but the St. Regis was going to only be a little more. Glad I made that choice. Warning: stay far away from LeM! Go see the turtle care center at LeM, pretty cool but leave the rest for the unsuspecting, uninformed...like I was.

Is there anything better than a sipping a Tahitian Mai Tai on an Overwater Bungalow in FP?

LeM has never been known as a snorkeling hot spot in Bora, even with the turtle lagoon. That side of the lagoon is too shallow so the water gets too hot for the coral and not enough water interaction with the open ocean to feed the coral.

Glad to hear that they took care of you.

MrsO,

Can you please tell me a little more about your request to move from LM to St. Regis? How bad was it at LM? Intolerable? What was their offer? How much of an upcharge, etc? If you want, you can e-mail me at gregorygrady at yahoo dot com. Thanks as I'm curious since I'll be at LM in less than a month.

According to me Le Meridien would be best. Must choose that only.
