No hangover, lots of photos taken! A good time was had by all.
Barbi and Tom met at 1 p.m., and went to a very cool fish place for lunch in Redondo Beach, then visited Tom's yacht club, then back to Barbi's hotel for a happy hour drink. We shuttled over to Terminal 2 to meet Tahitian Princess and Bob around 6:30, and to await the arrival of Poehere's delayed 7 p.m. flight from Paris. Poehere and JM finally cleared immigration around 8 p.m., lots of kisses and hugs, and we trekked over to the international terminal to check them into ATN. (Thank goodness Air France was transporting their luggage, because the lines were as long as we've ever seen them -- all they had was carry-on!)
By 8:30, all checked in, we all went upstairs in the int'l terminal to the sit-down Grill restaurant, and got a big table in the back room, and had a relaxing dinner. Many "manuias" and toasts all around! Lots of happy talk... Unfortunately, Poehere had a bad cold and stuffed up ears, and was feeling a bit jetlagged but she was smiling the whole time anyway!
We all said goodbye around 11 p.m., when they had to get on the VERY long security line. A FUN get-together!
I posted a photo on the Tereva thread ("Our Tahiti Travel Doll") but I am sure there are better ones to come from everyone else's cameras.

It turns out the delay in arrival from Paris was due to the French security guards going on STRIKE, causing Poehere and Tereva to miss their original flight. It actually worked out in the end, because we got to spend more time with each other (though I'm sure Poehere and J-M would have preferred to be well on their way to Tahiti by then, after a VERY long travel day!)

Bobby and I had so much fun! Meeting Barbara after all these years, was such a delightful treat. Seeing Poehere and J.M. and Tereva, again was added to our joy. AND..... meeting Traveling Tom, a great guy!We really didn't want, the get together to end. The visit, is all Bobby and I keep talking about, today. What amazing people(friends) we have met because of Tahiti and this forum. We look forward to seeing you again, hopefully someday soon! As well as, meeting many others from this forum.

It is fun meeting people from this forum, isn't it?
I met Barbi and Travelin' Tom (and a bunch more people)at the last get together in LA. What fun that was! Hopefully we'll be able to meet you and Bob sometime in the future too. I am also looking forward to meeting Poehere sometime in the future.

Patti, this forum has been a gift to all of us, in many ways. Not only are we able to chat about "The Most Beautiful Place On Earth", we also have the chance to meet some very special friend's.
Yes, I hope someday soon, we will have the chance to meet you and Paul. It would be fun if we ended up at Club Bali Hai at the same time. Actually, can you imagine how much fun it would be if were able to have a get togther with everybody, on Moorea?
Wait until you meet Poehere and J.M.,they are just such super nice people. As you already know Barbi, she is an amazing and caring person, just as we see her on this forum!

I have met many of the people who regularly post on this forum, and have NEVER met one I didn't immediately like! Most have become really good long-term friends!
It was great to finally meet Tahitian Princess and Bob at last after emailing for a long time! And of course it's always wonderful to see Tom, who probably holds the record for showing up at the most get-togethers (and creating some of his own, like in Idaho)! And it was super-special to see Poehere and J-M again, but this time in LA!
It's true; these GTGs always end too soon, with LOTS still left to gab about!
