The LAX exchange rate is always significantly worse, and difficult to compare because they have an odd way of quoting it, so it's hard to compare. Last time I checked at the ICE Currency Exchange, the rate was 66 Tahitian francs (XPF) to $1 USD (you have to specifically ask for that conversion, because the number they post is some different calculation), and when we arrived in Tahiti that night, the rate was 86 at the PPT airport bank.
It sounds like it's remained stable since November.

Great trip report holte......almost felt like we were there again....well, almost and only for a nano second!
