Hi there!! my fiance and I are staying at the Sofitel Motu in an Overwater for our honeymoon, and we asked our Travel Agent to request bungalow # 128, but we know there isn't any guarantee, and they get requests for the same bungalows all the time. I'm sure that all the rooms are beautiful, but want to give ourselves the best chance of getting a room that we would love, with great views & over deeper water. We will be travelling from Moorea to Bora Bora to the Sofitel Motu, with two flight options; one gets you to the hotel at 10AM, and the other 1PM. WILL GETTING THERE EARLY INCREASE OUR CHANCES OF CHANGING BUNGALOWS?? If so is it worth it to rouse ourselves so early to leave and try this? (we're not exactly early risers!) Thanks for any help and can't WAIT to go!

I really can't answer that question, we got into the hotel around 2pm and got the bungalow we requested but I think its all a crap shoot. It depends on how full the resort is and whether the people who are in bungalow 128 before you have vacated it. Good Luck, you will love whatever bungalow you are put in. Did you see the movie Triple XXX? The end of the movie was shot at the Motu in Bungalow 115.

bsinutah, I read somewhere else on this forum that the end scenes XXX were shot at another hotel, but I also thought that it was shot at the motu. Were they mistaken? I recall that you've been there and would probably know. If XXX was shot at the motu, let me know b/c that's reason enough to rent the video!!!

The opening shot of a bunch of OWBs was filmed at Le Meridien. But all of the other bungalow shots were at the Motu. Total, perhaps 4-5 minutes at the very end of the movie.

Ditto what Zonie said. They started to film at Le Meredien and got a shot of the outside of a bunch of OWB's and then switched to the Motu for the shot of the characters looking out of the OWB and laying on the deck chairs.

Hey Hobo,
As stated, it's all a crap shoot. Take the early flight. If nothing else, you'll spend a few more hours on Bora Bora and that you won't regret.
