what times do people normally start/end boarding the Paul Gauguin?

intinerary shows depart Papeete 2200 hours?

We're looking at flights from Rarotonga that arrive 14:55 on Tues, same day as PG departs. Would this be a crunch?

Bora Bora Cruises
TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.
Check our Cruises page for more information

another option is catching the ppt to raro flight that leaves at 8:30 am at the end of the cruise. What time could we get off the PG? Itinerary says ship return to ppt 1900 on Mon and overnights.

You should be fine and have ample time to get on the ship unless of course your flight is delayed or something. It is only 5 km to the dock from the airport

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, it looks like, barring no flight at all, embarking should be no problem.

What about the other end? I've got info saying you can disembark
"after breakfast" What time would that be?
The flight to raro leaves at 8:30 am. How early can we get off the ship? I'm sure we could be ready as soon as they let us go.

Thanks

Genel, you can DISembark anytime you want after the PG docks at 7 on the Friday night. On our cruise this past Nov/Dec, some passengers disembarked immediately after docking to go to the airport for the Friday night return flight to LAX. If you opt to go to Raro post-cruise, you can book a cab to fetch you dockside at say 7 am and get the airport in plenty of time. We found Happy Taxi very reliable....PoPo speaks perfect English. We have her # if you'd like it.

On the day of EMbarkation, you can drop your bags off dockside at anytime and they will be secure until you return to check in. However, you can't board before 3. SOMETIMES they will let you on as early as 2 but the last of the previous cruise passengers leave at 1:30 so a boarding before 3 is unusual.

Feel free to ask away regarding the PG.... We've been fortunate to sail on her several times....sigh!

Thank you very much, Vaitape!
That's what we needed to know.
Yet another ringing endorsement for the PG.
We're getting excited now.

The earliest you can board is 2:30 pm. If you board then, you will be directed to the Grand Salon to sit until the boarding table is ready to receive you. While you wait, you will be served sandwiches and drinks. You can leave the ship anytime once the ship docks but why...most of us want to stay on as long as possible.
