Sheraton Moorea Questions

We were lucky enough to go to Bora Bora for our 20th anniversary about 3 years ago. This website was wonderful in our planning last time. Now that the Sheraton Moorea has changed to a Hilton, we are planning a trip to Moorea with my sister (and her Hilton Honors points) plus our kids, two 18 year olds and one 15 year old. She has enough points for two rooms for 6-7 days. We are also thinking of doing two days in Tahiti (at the Intercontinental) on one end of the trip because we only had a few hours there last time. We would like to explore the market plus enjoy the resort a little more. Back to Moorea, does anyone know if the garden bungalows can sleep three in each room? Our trip is being planned for the end of July, and with tourism being slow, we are hoping we might be able to upgrade on arrival to an overwater bungalow. We would love for the kids to have that experience! We are looking for advice from anyone who has stayed there specifically about the resort. Also, we received the basic response from Hilton Honors about the breakfast being included, but I am thinking we will need to contact the resort directly to confirm. I will post about excursions in another section, but any recommendations about activities, restaurants, etc. is welcome too. The kids love to snorkel, but two of the three are not too excited about any shark-related activities (even though we did it in Bora Bora and had great pictures!). Thanks in advance for any guidance.

FYI The BBNui has also changed to Hilton as well as the Sheraton Tahiti but must say the Interconti Tahiti is nicer (imho)
The bungalows at the Hilton Moorea have a large, wide couch wich can be used as a bed sleeping a 3rd person. You can request a roll-a-way bed but they charge a lot for those and not so comfortable. July is normally the high season but who knows what 2009 will bring , no harm in trying especially since you're taking 2 bungalows!
For the kids maybe a guided tour on jetski, or quad or a lagoon tour with picnic (it is more than just shark feeding) the Hilton has kayaks as well. Moorea now also has a ultralight flying club...

They have recently redecorated the garden bungalows at the Hilton/Sheraton Morea and the new couches are not as good as the old couches for sleeping but it can be done. Also, although you may be hoping for an upgrade to an overwater, you may want to consider taking one of the standard garden bungalows with a connecting door. When I was there in 2007, I turned down an upgrade to a premium garden so that my parents, my wife and I could be in a connected bungalow. It was nice to open the connecting door, get together, talk, play some music and share a few drinks. Might work out nicely with the kids.
