We are going to spilt our visit and stay 4-5 nights at the BB Pearl Beach Resort and 4-5 nights at the Tahaa Private Island Resort and Spa. Where should we stay first?
Are these two good choices? Everything I have read seems positive.
Thank you.

Hi kwhite and welcome to the forum - we stayed at BB Pearl and Le Tahaa in June 2006. I would stay at BB first and then just relax in Tahaa (it is a shame the helicopter transfer is not flying anymore as that was truly an amazing flight over to Le Tahaa) - when are you going to be travelling?
For more detailed info, please read Gary's trip report in the attached link

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I enjoyed reading your report. My fiance and I are going to be spending our honeymoon there in early Nov. I have a couple more questions.
How many nights at each resort would you recommend? Did you feel safe renting a car and exploring on your own in BB? How much would you budget per day for food, beverages, etc...? I understand it is quite pricey.
Thanks again!

FP is very safe. There isn't a big difficulty in driving there. I personally would never rent a scooter anywhere. I've seen some nasty scooter accidents all over the world. They always lose.
Yes, it is expensive. Literally everything (except some fruit) is imported. www.xe.com is a good exchange rate converter.

Hey kwhite, we stayed at BB for 6 nights and Le Tahaa for 4 nights. I guess there is a bit more to do on BB and we really just relaxed and did nothing at Le Tahaa. In regards to food and beverages we usually include half board (breakfast and dinner) and prepay that with our booking so we don't have to worry too much about when and where we will be eating. You would be best to try and buy your Hinanos, mixers for drinks and water at the supermarket in BB and bring your duty free with you!
