After looking forward to this trip for over three months, seems like the time passed in the blink of an eye while we were there. We spent our stay at the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort and I really can't say enough good about the place. The resort boat picked us up at the airport and greeted us with a lei, loaded our luggage and off to the hotel. Once at the resort we were given a cool towel and served a drink in the lobby while our luggage was unloaded. A tour of the resort facilities on the way to our room. We had an OWB and the resort was not busy at all, we almost felt as if we were the only ones there. I recommend the meal plan where we had breakfast every morning and dinner 3 nights at the Otemanu restaurant, the food was great. Take advantadge of the activity desk! We took a 4WD tour of the island and saw some spectacular sights including the WWII AA guns. Also the snorkeling and ray feeding excursion was a lot of fun, probably the closest most people will ever be to that many sharks in the water. I got in two dives, first at Haapita and the second at Tuupua using Blue Nui Dive Center. Really awesome and this was my first real open water dive. We ate at Fare Manuia, Bloody Mary's, and Kaina Hut. The cab ride to Kaina Hut we picked up another couple which turned out to be Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Franz. As NYPD Blue was always my favorite show this was really cool and we enjoyed visiting with them, very nice people. BBLR is a very nice resort and the staff are extremely hospitable. No problems with mosquitos or other insects like I had read about on this forum, the information about all the dogs on the island is certainly correct. Met another couple who had bicycled around the island and they recommended NOT doing that mainly due to the heat and some of the bad road conditions, said it took about 4 hours. We took their advice and left the bikes alone. Hinano beer is great but I'm not sure it would taste as good back home in Texas. Our return flight did not leave BB until 6pm, the front desk manager was kind enough to extend our checkout time to 4:30pm. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great trip report. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the BBLR. It's kid of sad...all you hear about these days is the "Big Three"...Thalasso, St Regis, and Four Seasons....when there are so many other nice hotels on Bora Bora that people seem to have just swept aside in favor of staying at the "Bigger, Better, Newer" hotels out on the eastern motu. I'm glad you chose one of them for your stay. It seems sometime that is has been lost in the shuffle...and yet those who do stay there mostly come back with great reports!

Thanks for the trip report TxTerrier - we have a friend of ours who is getting married in November and our local TA has secured a fantastic deal for her to stay at BBLR in a O/W (which is what she had her heart set on but the other "big three" were just out of her price range). Great to hear you had a great time - I'm sure the "Polynesian Flu" will be kicking in soon!!

Hey Tom! I want to hear about your latest trip. Since this is an FP site, it probably better be short, so try to get the info all into one giant paragraph- maybe 20 or thirty sentences. What's next on the itinerary?

A paragraph is "a group of sentences or a single sentence that forms a unit" (Lunsford and Connors 116). Length or appearance is not a factor in determining whether a section is a paragraph. In fact, it is not the number of sentences that construct a paragraph, but the unity and coherence of ideas among those sentences. When the paragraph reaches completion, it should serve to guide the reader into his/her understanding of what has been read. Whether that completion happens with one sentence or with twenty (20), the end result is still a paragraph.

Oui/Non? lol
