We are coming in on the 5:00 flight from PPT to Moorea on May 13th after a week at Raimiti (I'm a little nervous we may miss this flight since our flight from Fakarava is scheduled to get in at 4:15, so if that flight is running behind, we might not make the 5pm flight to Moorea). We are staying at the Pearl. We'd like to go to Rudy's the night we get in, but we don't know if it will be too late to arrange a reservation and pick-up once we get to the Pearl. Does anyone know if Rudy's has an email address I can use to email them in advance asking for a reservation? Or do you think its better to email the Pearl before we leave and ask them to arrange it for us? Thanks!

We had that tight connection also so we ask the folks at Air Tahiti in Fakarava for their help. We were met by Air Tahiti ground personel as we came off the plane in Faaa and were able to get our luggage at once to wheel down to Air Moorea. I have ask our caretaker to call Rudy's and find out if they have an email address. I'll post the answer tomorrow.

Sorry in checking futher with our caretaker Jacques who called
Rudys and found out they do not have an email address. I would have the Pearl make a reservation and if you don't make it Rudys will understand.

Thanks Hamara for all the advice. I'll definitely ask the airport personel at Fakarava airport for help on the tight connection. And I have an email into the Pearl for the reservation at Rudys!

Syd's back in the restaurant business, eh? I knew a couple of years ago, when he told me that he was retired "for good", that it wouldn't last! How many reataurants on Moorea owe their startup to Syd???

Syd is training his son Rodolphe (Rudy) to run Rudy's but he has
a touch in running great restaurants. He is one great host.

Ate at Rudy's twice last week. The parrot fish stuffed with crab is wonderful. Syd is the best. He's involved in a large land development in the hills overlooking Cook's Bay. His waitress help never showed all week so he was host and waiter! Rudy's in the kitchen and his other son is a "playboy" (his word) in Haapiti, surfing! But come the end of this year, Syd is cutting him off, so he may be at the restaurant too.
