I saw this post the other day & contacted Maggie via her email address. My husband & I live in Indiana & will be travelling to Tahiti in July. I told her I'd bring her back a few bottles & she can pick up at my house, which isn't too far from her. Guess I'll have to try this stuff when I get there...I may bring back several bottles! 67 more days!

You'd better check with US customs first about how many bottles of liquor you're allowed to bring back! I'm Canadian and we only get a bottle each, I think.

Tracey, you can bring back as much as you want. You just have to pay duty on anything over 1 litre per person. See below.
Alcoholic Beverages: One liter (33.8 fl. oz.) of alcoholic beverages may be included in your exemption if:
You are 21 years old.
It is for your own use or as a gift.
It does not violate the laws of the state in which you arrive.
Federal regulations allow you to bring back more than one liter of alcoholic beverage for
personal use, but, as with extra tobacco, you will have to pay duty and Internal Revenue
Service tax.

I am not positive, but I think you can buy this stuff duty free on the plane on the way home. It's probably more expensive than buying it at the distillery though. I also think you can buy it at the duty free shop after security at Fa'a.

Thanks, Joe. That makes sense. I guess I'm just so used to bringing my 'free' limit back from the US whenever we go that I never thought of bringing more & paying extra (it would be worth it for Tahiti Drink and Vahine!).
