OP - generally places are open year round. On Tikehau I stayed at Pension Kahaia beach in April a couple of years ago. I booked them via the Federation of Guesthouses: http://www.haere-mai.pf/index.php?page=accueil&lg=en

It is possible that some places might have gone out of business.

Loc: USA 		Sorry guys - this is real and not a spam. I tried calling a few places and no one seems to pick up the phone. I am also posting in the Bora Bora and Raiatea forums as the same thing is happening there and looks like some of the places may be closed. I am leaving this weekend so do reply. Thanks
