ok, almost 48 hours to lift off...Hinanos here I come :O). so we are planning on taking in several restaurants in Vaitape( how do you pronounce that ?) After we take the transfer from BBLR in to town in the evenings, are most of the restaurants in close proximity ? we love to walk, so no issue's, just would like to know if a taxi is needed, so I don't miss the 11:00 "last bus" back "home" to the OWB..:O).also, been to Europe before where meals tend to start later than here in US, what is the common dinner hour in FP ? no worries or hurries here.. thank you in advance for any insight... scotty

Actually most of the restaurants are not in Vaitape. They are mostly scattered between Vaitape and the Matira Beach area....most are not within walking distance. You should make prior arrangements with the restaurants to have a car meet you to take you to the restaurant.

Prounounced Vy-tah-pay
Most of the good restaurants will pick you up at the boat landing for your hotel on the main island; just call them in the afternoon and ask for transport when you make your reservation (or have your concierge do it).

You pretty much have to make reservations 2-3 months in advance to eat at Villa Mahana. UNLESS there is a cancellation. I would contact them the minute you get to Bora and see if maybe they have any openings during your stay. Good luck.

Yes, it is hugely popular and only has a few tables. Like I said, if you really want to do it, get to work on it the minute you get all settled in at your hotel. You might want to check daily with them to see if there is an opening or cancellation. I have heard of people getting lucky and scoring a table last minute and yet many others getting completely shut out during their stay because they didn't have advance reservations. At this late date, it's a crap shoot. You never know, you might get lucky.

Well, if you want to do that...you may as well get started and try before you leave. If you get lucky...be prepared...it's mucho expensive!
