Are they still operating the pensions? Or just the restaurants? I've sent a couple of email by no response. Also, which should I prefer if both are available for Dec 15 - 19 2009?

We stayed at Pension Motu Iti in November '07 and I think they're still operating (their website's still up). Did you use this email:
pensionmotuiti@mail.pf
And how long did you wait for a reply? Auguste was pretty fast getting back to me each time I emailed him (no more than 2 days and usually just 1). We had a great time there (we stayed in the farthest beach bungalow from the restaurant. The snorkelling was great, the staff very friendly and the food was very good, too!

I don't know anything about Pension Aito (just the restaurant).

Give Aguste at Motu Iti a call.....no problems if you can't speak French as most staff who answer the phone speak English....including owner Auguste. It's a great place kept in immaculate shape. Very good value and our choice for pensiones in that area...you are close to the Hilton which has good snorkeling as well. Let us know how you do....

I'll check with Aguste, but for now we booked the 3 for 2 special with bfast at The Pearl. I just realized that the wife will probably want a pool, to they have one or use of the Hilton?

No, Pension Motu Iti is too small to have a pool (5 bungalows plus the dorm area) and you don't get to use the Hilton's (well, not officially...I'm sure if you went there for lunch they wouldn't mind). The snorkelling at Motu Iti is very good, though!
