G&C, sounds like we have the making of a full resort staff. Come on people, lets do this.

The unfortunate thing about the Club Med property (as well as the now closed Moorea Village property) is that the multiple Tahitian family members who own them cannot agree on anything, and it takes the signatures/agreement of them ALL to lease or sell or develop. And so the land just sits... There are constant rumors flying around the coconut radio about either or both of them being sold, but they are just not true. And, given the awful economy in FP right now (worse than ours), it's unlikely that an investor would be successful there.
Sigh.... well, we can all DREAM!

Even if you got all of the known owners to sign a purchase agreement you can bet your bottom dollar a year later a few more members of a family would come forward and also claim owership. My property has been in forgein ownership since 1923 so I only had one owner to deal with. Property in FP passes on thru the mother. Some children are recognized by the father and some are not. It makes the Notaires (lawyers) in FP rich handling property claims.

I'm glad you had such a nice trip, my 2 weeks wasn't enough. It's not hard for me to get into the relaxing and living thing, as long as I have enough reading material. My opinion on the $ exchange is I always do it at the airport, because the wait in the bank is sooo slow, even for someone used to Hawaiian time and really nothing else to do.

Barbara - just got around to reading your great report. I would NEVER have a problem filling my time on Moorea - mostly I think I would just kick back and relax alot, snorkel, walk and breathe the wonderful salty air...We celebrated our 40th anniversay too this year, but instead of Tahiti we get the consolation prize of 2 weeks in Hawaii. I still think we'll have a good time, just different than FP. Can't even begin to compare them.
Thanks for taking the time to try and summarize your 2 months.
