Just returned from Le Taha'a on 8/19. The room service charge is $2-5 more per item than at the restaurant PLUS a $10 delivery charge. Also, do not stay in a beach villa. If the wind is not blowing, you will be eaten up by mosquitos. (I later learned that the locals call this motu - Motu Mosquito.) We were fortunate enough to get moved out of the beach villa to an OWB for the reamining three nights of our stay after a complaint to Jessica in guest relations.

It's a shame Tahiti Addict that you didn't enjoy your stay. That is our favourite resort EVER and we'll be back there in December. One thing to note, though, is that room service is free of charge if you are staying in a Bora Bora or Sunset bungalow. The charge only applies to the Taha'a OWB's or Beach Bungalows.

Oh, forgot to ask, did you happen to meet the GM, Xavier Bessou (or is he still there?) and Eric was the concierge when we stayed there and he was outstanding!!

We were staying in a Sunset Bungalow and the room service charges did apply there - it was noted right on the room service menu. Once we got to the OWB, we had a wonderful time. We did the tour of the vanilla and pearl farm. Unfortunately we were rushed thru the vanilla farm and had to stay much too long at the pearl farm. The only persons we were in contact with were Linda at the activities desk and Jessica in guest relations.

That's dissappointing that they are now charging for the room service at ALL of the bungalows. We didn't do any of the tours when we were there - just diving - which was sensational. The rest of the time we just did nothing, and had the most relaxing time ever. We intend to do the same again next time. We just loved the room and location. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.

We are planning to go to Tahaa also in March.

Our question is if it very expensive to have breakfast/dinner at the hotel or if there are other options nearby specially for dinner.

Thanks.

dvk, try this link (and in particular Islandboy's reply)

I tend to agree with him, as we had half board included with our stay, but actually found that the beach bar restaurant (poolside) had a much better and varied menu.
