Some of you may remember the story but I'll give a quick recap. We had planned our trip in April of 02 and our travel was booked for the 3rd week of Jan 03. Our stay on Bora was booked for PB but early in Nov we got a call from our TA about PB being closed for renovations the dates of our booking. Pearl resort gave us a few different hotels to switch to and we chose the Nui. We received another call today from our TA stating that the Nui wouldnt confirm the reservation, so we are out again. This time the tour Co. gave us the choice of moving to Le Meridien, BB Lagoon resort or the Intercontinental. They needed an answer today also. After another crash course in the hotels of Bora Bora we went with the Lagoon resort.

I did a search of these and other boards today to get as much info as quickly as possible. I have really learned alot this past year from this board in particular. Im hoping that I can get some more recent info on the Lagoon resort. I see they did some renovations earlier this year can anyone help with what was upgraded or repaired. I would appreciate any response that I can get. We had spent so much time learning about PB and then the Nui and now we are down to only about 2 weeks until our trip and we are starting over again.

As far as we are concerned this is only minor complications but we still want to be as informed as possible. Please fire away all.
Brian

The Meridien is great. We stayed at the Pearl Beach in Nov. and hated it. It was a dump of a hotel. The Meridien has a smaller pool, but the lagoon with real turtles and the small surrounding islands made it so much nicer. The food is better and so are the staff. One of the best hotels on the island. Enjoy and let us know how you get on.

Stayed at BBLR August 2001 for 6 nights OWB. Have to agree w/ Anthony. Loved the resort, its location, pool, amenities, free breakfasts, etc... I would agree that the Motu and Hotel BB would also be in the same category. Have a great trip!

dc girl or Anthony, could you please let me know if there is a dress code at the Lagoon resort for the Dinner hours? I read somewhere going through past posts that there was a dress code but I couldnt recall the location or event. It seems that the people that book the excursions out of the Lagoon resort seem to get some very nice reviews on this board. Any recomendations as far as certain tour guides to look for or reguest?

Thanks for the replies so far, keep them coming please.

Brian

No formal dress code. I would say that men can wear nice shorts and nice short sleeve shirt. Avoid baseball caps, t-shirts, etc... Ladies as always are more flexible. I tended to wear sundresses everywhere and was fine. There shouldn't be anywhere you dine that you will have to get "dressed". Gosh, can't wait to go back!
