hello all,
we're about to embark on our honeymoon - 4 nights moorea, 4 nights bora bora, both at the pearl resort. with top dive, villa mahana closed and bloody mary's receiving mixed reviews, i am looking for suggestions for dining options. i have in mind the bora bora yacht club as well as kaina hut. questions:
1) i understand there's a shuttle from the pearl resort to chancelade and then a bus from there to vaitape; how do i get to matira beach from there? estimated travel time?
2) does the yacht club provide transportation for it's guests?
appreciate any feedback!

BB yachtclub provides transfers and so does Kaina (although you'd prob have to share the ride)
In Vaitape there is also the St. James (waterfront) although imho the food is good it is expensive and portions quite small... Sunset boulevard is just outside Vaitape, sushi etc Bloody Mary's is an "experience" food is so so
Matira: Fare Manuia is ok with a large fish/meat menu, (if you're to go there try get a table "inside" and not in the terrace) Restaurant Matira is sort of gourmet but quite expensive
Bus to Vaitape will take you appr. 10-15 minutes from shuttle drop off point in Faanui. There is no public transportation on BB so to get to Matira (day time) from Vaitape best to rent a bicycle in Vaitape (appr. 30 minute -do take water) or a bugster/car (10 minutes), only other option is hitch hiking or taxi
If you were set on Villa Mahana, the only other really gourmet resto is the Lagoon at St Regis but it would create logistic problems you being at the Pearl (imho it is better and more value for your money than the VM)
You being there only 4 days, I would certainly try go to the BB yachtclub -maybe even early for sunset pre-dinner drinks!) and either Kaina Hut or Bloody Mary's, Kaina for the food, BM for the experience
ENJOY

Just out of interest, P, what is your favourite resto on BB?

5 favorites: Kaina hut, because Gilles is a wonderful host and they have excellent food for a reasonable price BB Yachtclub, wonderful location (even for us) and Teva has done an absolute wonderful job (he used to be at the HBB and BBNui years ago), young energetic and great ideas Fare Manuia, Régis the owner is a little crazy but a great guy, food is good and great portions (except for the foie gras, too little but delicious) La Panda d'or, horrible interior, chinese, great crab cakes and steamed fish Roulotte place Muto'i, good cheeseburger hihihi
Well Honeymooners, luckily you're staying at the Pearl, there was a mini tornado last night which wrecked the roofs of the Sofitel motu, did some damage at the Moana and Thalasso it came and went out of the blue
