Just watched the trailer. Looks pretty funny. Especially the shark scene with the little black tips.

Vince was on Ellen yesterday here in Australia and Ellen gave away a trip to St Regis for throwing a coconut through a hole. Apparently Ellen was at the Four Seasons recently. Good to see FP getting some prime time exposure.

They (with Portia) were at the St Regis, too bad they missed the miss Vahine-tane (raerae) beauty contest...

A group of some 50 journalists is here at the invitation of Universal Studios for the promotion of the movie. They've had the works, not just the tsunami red alert but also a superbe picnic on Motu Tapu (partly owned by LW who owns the St Regis)

Anyone going to see the movie, please report back!

Hi P, we are going to see the movie as soon as it opens here in Aust (which I believe is 15 October) and I will get Gary to give a report ASAP.

Cool, saw some of the shootings but is not the same as seeing the final production on a large screen. Also has a good French actor in it, Jean Reno. No idea when it will show here...

Going to see the movie in about 3 hours, so I'll post a report when we get home. It's very cold here right now, so it should warm us up. Kind of like a prelude to our trip in 6 weeks.

Just got back from seeing Couples Retreat at the movies. Great movie. Really good shots of Le Meridien when they first get to BB. Some great shots of Otemanu throughout the movie. Not much else as far as shots of BB, though.

The movie is great. It has a semi-serious streak in the middle, but unlike other comedies that try and get serious and wreck the movie, this one works. The water throughout the movie looks typical sun drenched BB blue - don't go and see it if you don't have a flu curing trip planned, because you will book on the way home from the movies. A little disappointing the lack of Tahitian extras. For those who have seen Once Were Warriors (I know you have Loveners), Jake the Muss (aka Temuera Morrison) is a crack up as Monsieur Marcel's assistant. Jean Reno is awesome, especially his presentation at the end (I won't spoil it).

Interesting to note that Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman's room is a Premier OW Villa with jacuzzi and John Favreau and Kristen Davis' room is a Royal OW pool villa, which Kristen took a dip in the pool at night. I wonder who got to stay in the Royal Estate?

Overall, great movie if you haven't been to FP - great movie if you have. Just be warned - those prone to the flu will get VERY flu-ridden sick by the end of the movie.

Make sure you stay right to the end (to the end of the credits) because you see some good lagoon footage with the cast just chilling out in BB.

The movie was terrible. No tahitian music, dancers( a few seconds in the background), language, or tahitians for that matter. No mention of the location, actors drank budweiser, jet skied, and went to party that looked like spring break in Cancun. On top of that, the pointless dialogue got in the way of the scenery. It reminded me of watching some tourists getting off the boat tour( which is absolutely magnificent) on Matira beach and arguing over their lost towel. Totally oblivious to what they just experienced. However, I bet the actors enjoyed making the film.
