A license was granted to a (new) company wishing to serve the Society islands with a fast luxurious car ferry, "The King Tamaota"
If all goes according to plan... the boat should be active as of 1st March 2010 with 3 runs per week, Papeete - Huahine (4hrs) - Raiatea (1hr) and BB (1,5 hrs), so total trip time PPT-BB 6,5 hrs
Expected rates: VIP class 10,000 cfp (appr. 122 us$)
Comfort class: 8,000 cfp (appr. 98 us$)
Tourist class: 6,000 cfp (appr. 73 us$)
Car (!!wow): 5,000 cfp (appr. 61 us$)
Vessel is presently servicing between Nice and Corsica and shall arrive in FP end of the year to be prepared for its first Society island voyage YIPPEEEEEEEE

Reason I wrote "if all goes according to plan...." is that it has brought about a political shock wave (which prob won't interest anyone but me LOL) meaning that the monopole situation of certain companies is in danger YESSSSSSS and so AT is very unhappy (you're kidding lol) ofcourse and so are certain shipowners YESSSSSSS! Thank G** for competition!
Think this way: it is creating jobs, it will allow a LOT of families to see their families/friends at affordable rates during holidays, births, funerals, festivals and whatever. It will allow us to ship freight at descent rates (imagine right now sending a container to Hawaii = 6000 km is cheaper than shipping it from Papeete to Moorea = 17 km...!) It will allow more tourists to visit more islands at reasonable rates! YES, "invest in your transport" lol iso the "invest in your love" ridiculous campaign at skyrocking rates. Pfffffffffff had to get that of my chest lmao

We were in hawaii/wisconsin 4 a month wish we were there MAUPITI/HUAHINE/FAKARAVA??? went to disneyland i was crying in Tiki ROOM ))))))FP4LIFE)))))))
