You are probably right about the rates. It may all of a sudden become out of our price range too. Hopefully not!

Don't cross them too tightly....you may cause permanent damage cutting off the circulation. So far as I have heard absolutely nothing is being done with the property. Maybe Poehere has heard something more and will pop in with that info.

Last November (2009) the place was all but gutted when we went past it on the dive boat. And that was before the cyclone and during the GFC, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I check on her constantly. Hoping things go well and she opens back up. We were just talking about planning another trip and have no idea where else we would want to stay. Been there twice and fell in love. Perfect location.

I don't think it will happen... especially now that they're (both French central and the local government) cutting back on the hugh tax breaks on property investments which is why there used to be so much foreign input and resort where popping up all over the place.
Jacky what promises to become a true little gem is the new Brando the beachcomber group is constructing on Tetiaroa. Opening somewhere 2nd half of 2012.

Poehere, do you know if any progress has been made with the road and Hotel Bora Bora? I know the economy has made a huge impact on what may happen with them. It will be a shame if they cease to exist. I keep dreaming!

No progress at all and I really do not think it will ever happen so SAD!!! And with a new government about to be put in place (independent people) as well as the bad rating from Standard & Poor's last week I doubt anyone will want to invest these days... What a shame huh!

Wow that is very sad. Its hard to believe that this hotel may be gone forever. I'm just glad that we had the opportunity to visit it twice and loved every minute of it! I'll still keep hoping. Can't get any info from Aman reosrts either. That should tell me something. Thanks Poehere.
