sofitel la ora moorea? or sofitel marara bora bora?

Help! planning 7 nights, and have to stay at one of these hotels. both are owb. Sounds like moorea has more bugs, and not as nice water, but marara in BB is not very nice? Need quick help!

i've never been to sofitel bora bora, but I would guess that is a better place to have an over the water, you'll have a better view. OWB in Moorea is great, but will not compare to the view of Bora Bora's lagoon.

I've stayed at the Sofitel Ia Ora, but not the Motu. I would not say that bugs are a problem at the Sofitel on Moorea. We were there in June, if that has any bearing. We used OFF SPF 30 sunscreen/insect repellant and never had a problem with bugs. Also, we were in a garden bungalow. I would imagine the bugs are worse there than in the OW. We'd sit out on our deck each night drinking Hinanos. We lit the little bug-repellant ring that they had in the room and had no problems with bugs.
I thought the water was very nice. The beach has a view of Tahiti.
Again, I can't make a comparison between the two, but staying at the Sofitel on Moorea isn't a bad choice.

We stayed at Sofitel Ia Ora on Moorea in May 02- very nice, amazing beach. We stayed at Marara in BB, beach bungalow. I suppose compared to some other higher end resorts the Bora Bora choice is less than stellar, but we didnt want to pay upgrade to the Sofitel Motu. We found beach bungalow to be splendid- very nice accomodations, a/c, RIGHT on beach, clean,etc- food in hotel was less than stellar but I recommend eating out in evenings anyway. Its all about budget you have. Few place would you truly be disappointed in!

stayed at both resorts in owb with my girl friend in late oct. you can not go wrong with either one. the owb in moorea is really over the water #118
the owb in bb was not entirely over water but had a nice huge deck #64
the rooms were very nicely furnished good views of the sunrise enjoy
