Less expensive alternatives to Sofitel Motu

We are planning our trip to FP for July or August of 2003 but our first choice of a hotel in BB (Sofitel Motu OWB) brings over budget.
What would be less expensive alternatives? We would like a place that is fairly small and upscale. A/C not necessary but would like a fridge in the room. We would like an OWB but will stay in a beach bungalow if OWB is too expensive. Would like an awesome view and easy access to shops and restaurants on the main island.
Anyone has any suggestions?

Bora Bora beachcomber, le meredian are the two that come to mind without looking at any information. You will be happy whereever you decide to stay. Have fun planning your trip.
